The Chamber is pleased to have been one part in bringing about this new scheduled service. This latest effort to see this happen started in the Fall of 2015 with President Rick Harder’s trip to Ottawa with many business and Territorial officials. Informal talks and further meetings with YTG officials, with a healthy push from our MLA Patti MacLeod, lead to Alkan Air’s inaugural flight on September 12, 2016 into Watson Lake. This should once again become a vital transportation option for our business, health, leisure and intergovernmental needs. Our Chamber Air Service Committee included Rick Harder, Chris Irvin, Gerry Amann and Dalyce Stubenberg. Thank you to everyone for their hard work and dedication.
